What we have been up to..

I cannot believe that the summer has just flown by! Where to begin??

Well, the first wonderful thing that happened was that Devin has been able to work with our neighbor doing heating and air conditioning! Since we moved down here, Dev has been been trying to continue his financial planning business down here. He has done some great things, but when you are in a commission based job and you move to a place where you really don't know anyone, building your business can be tough. Fortunately, my job pays for the bills, but we really needed a little more to build up savings and pay for unexpected bills, etc. Our neighbor across the way owns his own company. One Saturday Dev told him that if he needed any help to consider calling Devin. Well, a couple hours after Dev talked with him, our neighbor was at a job on a ladder and fell off the ladder. He hit his head and broke his arm. Needless to say, Devin has been blessed with work everyday! Really the Lord was looking out for us. Our neighbor later told us that he had spoken with the stake president a week before the accident. The stake president told him to hire some one and the Lord will bless them with work. Our neighbor was still a little hesitant to hire someone. When he fell off the latter, he took it as a sign. I am so grateful that the Lord knew what we needed and how to take care of us. It has been a major blessing in our lives!

Devin also started school. He started going to Dixie State and changed his major to accounting. He was a little nervous to start a new school and to go to class since he hit his head again and has had some memory problems. He has done really well! He really only has problems when his brain becomes stressed or overloaded. We are just taking it one day at a time.. Here he is on his first day of school. Isn't he cute?

Nothing has really changed for me. Work is starting to go well. I am doing a lot of everything by myself. I now can also do inter-operative monitoring for the spine surgeons by myself! I passed my training! The house is coming along. We finally picked a paint color for the bedroom and fabric for the downstairs curtains. Saint George is also becoming more like home. It has started cooling down so all of our neighbors are outside at night. It is our favorite thing to go out and get to know them. We have some really awesome neighbors! Now that it is cooler outside, we want to start going camping. Tonight we thought we would try putting Hank's camping gear on him, so he can get used to it. He HATED it! He would not move. Here are some picks of Dev trying to get him to move.

Hank has started to act like himself. When we moved down here, he really was confused and not very happy. But since we have settled, he is much happier. Here are some pics of him at his favorite spot in the house. It is the first landing of the stairs.

I can't wait for the next couple of weeks. We have some friends and family coming to visit us. I am so ready to see them! It has been too long. I also cannot wait for these next couple of months because I feel like life is progressing. You know those periods of time where you are stuck doing the same thing and the weather is the same and there is just nothing going on? That has been my life for the past couple of months. I feel like with the weather changing that it is bringing along new changes and good things. We will see how life goes!
